Life as we know it...

Life is as it always is... surprising. You never know what you're going to get, where you're going to end up, or what you're going to be doing. Josh and I have witnessed this in our lives and are beginning to see that, no matter how much we plan and prepare, the Lord has a greater plan in mind. Take the last 6 months for example... We moved up here to Utah from Arizona because we had to choose a new school and Weber State felt right and had a good program close to what Josh wanted to do. We then were unable to start school due to some errors in our taxes (making it impossible to get the federal grant we needed in time to pay for school). So we decided to wait a year, get residency, and then start. I then lost my job, Josh quit his second job, and we found ourselves unable to afford living in our apartment. So we found ourselves with a choice, we could either find an affordable apartment here in Ogden, or we could move to New Mexico and start school there (because we found ourselves missing home and loved ones and moving to New Mexico would bring us closer to our families). We decided to fast, pray, and go to the temple with our dilemma. We felt that our purposes here, in Utah, were accomplished and, even though we didn't go to school, we cannot ignore all that we have learned, all the new friends and experiences we have gained, and all the blessings we have received here in Ogden. It was a wonderful experience and opportunity for us to learn, grow, and serve. However, we have decided to move closer to family and root ourselves there. We desire to be in a position where we can go to them quickly when they need us, and to be able to be with them for important events, etc. Due to the lack of finances and vacation time, we were almost unable to visit them for the holidays, we don't want to have that problem again. Our families are too precious to us. We feel this is the thing our Father in Heaven would have us do. We laugh that we will only have lived in Ogden for 1 year, but that's life... unpredictable. We simply trust and find stability in our Heavenly Father and His plan for us. =)

  1. :( So we are going to be alone, yet again... Sad... We'll definitely miss you. When are you heading down there? We're having a pizza party on the 19th if you're still going to be around for it! Let us know what's going on and we'll be glad to help.
